Chapter Twenty-Two
A soft murmur jerked Dapplefur out of her doze. She reconized the icy blue eyes gazing down at her. "Did you hunt this for me?" He asked, flicking his striped tail to the pile of fresh kill Dapplefur had caught at moonhigh that night.
The tortoiseshell bleakly nodded her head, and rose up from her sleep. She stretched her cramped muscles, and unsheathed her claws, digging them into the ground for more support. She felt her muscles loosen, and her jaws gapped into a huge yawn, showing her gleaming white teeth.
She then walked towards the fresh-kill pile. Hawkfrost was already chewing on the vole that she had caught. She had already eaten at moonhigh, but her belly yowled with hunger. She snatched a mouse from the pile, and gulped it down quickly, making her belly comfortably full. Hawkfrost finished the vole in one last, swift bite.
[sorry! finish later...]

What do you want to do today? Hawkfrost meowed softly, licking his lips to get every bit of the fresh-kill flavor. His whiskers twitched as he waited for her reply patiently. His dark tabby body was suddenly lit up by the rays of the sun, it shown, dark brown with rippling ebony stripes, his underbelly glowing like a fresh patch of snow, and his icy eyes glaring.
Dappletail gasped. Everything suddenly seemed to hit her like a blow from a badger's paw. She was not home. She was gone, she was not back in ThunderClan. She looked around her, the tall birch trees rattling with the breezy weather. She looked back at Hawkfrost. She was with Hawkfrost.
She took a step backwards, her blue eyes sparkling with fear. Hawkfrost advanced a step, his blue optics flashing with uncertainty and concern. Dappletail? He asked, confused, What's wrong, Dappletail? The tortoiseshell did not respond. She couldn't. Her tongue was frozen by a block of fear. She was with the son of Tigerstar.
She couldn't believe that she was here. She flashed a glance at Hawkfrost, full of anger, confusion, and shock. She then turned tail and pelted, not looking back, afraid.

Chapter Twenty-Three
Dapplefur continued to run, anywhere. She couldn't believe she was with Hawkfrost. She then looked back. He was not following her. She suddenly felt terrible inside. She stopped arruptly, her paws skidding on the grass, her gaze low. What had she done? How could she judge the wonderful RiverClan warrior just because of some rumors? How could she judge him from his father? His sister was a medicine cat, with a connection with StarClan, As far as anyone knew, Tigerstar behaved as if he had never heard of StarClan.
She glanced back, and she saw the tabby warrior padding along, he had been following her. His eyes were clouded with confusion. She sank lower into the damp grass, her flatten ears betraying her embarrassment, and discomfort. She stopped in her tracks, her tail flat to the grassy undergrowth. How could she explain?
Hawkfrost stopped a fox-length away from her, his eyes searching her's. He sat down on his haunches, his ears twisted sideways. His body language told her that he was angry and confused, but his eyes told her a different story. They were sympathtic, and clear with understanding. She smiled wearily, not wondering how he would take it.
Listen, She began, I'm sorry... Hawkfrost silenced her by brushing his tail across her mouth, I know, He murmured, It's alright.
Dapplefur was swept up into his gaze, unable to break away. She began to drown. She knew she could trust this warrior. He would die to save her life, and she would do the same for him. She rose up, and pressed against him, seeking some comfort.
Hawkfrost didn't edge away, but he meerly sank down to the ground. The tortoiseshell followed his lead. She could hear a purr rumbling in the tabby's throat. She closed her eyes, and suddenly felt as if she was floating above the clouds. It was okay that she left. . . her eyes snapped open. She left because of something her father said she would never do. Go with Hawkfrost.
And yet, here she was, sharing tongues beside the tabby warrior. She felt sad, and she bit her lip. She seeked reassurance, and she began to share tongues with Hawkfrost. At least she still had him. He would always stand by her to the end. She would do the same.
She closed her eyes again, seeking the clouds she had been floating over only moments before. They were still there, and she reached up for them. She smiled. It wasn't the end of dusk, it was the beginning of dawn.
