Sora: He is an upbeat and cheerful teenager and though he may seem simple-minded and naïve at times, he possesses an unwavering heart and his strong sense of justice is extraordinary. At times, he is impulsive and quick to anger, but he is always sincere about what he says and does. He lives at Destiny Islands with his is friends Riku, Kairi, Toby, Ryan, and Seira. Sora

Roxas: Roxas has no memory of being Sora. He wields two Keyblades. His name is an anagram of "Sora" with an "x" added. He is also sixteen.

Riku: Riku is seventeen and lives with Kairi, Sora, Toby, Ryan, and Seira. Riku

Kairi: Kairi is sixteen years old and living on the Destiny Islands with Sora, Seira, Toby, Ryan and Riku Kairi

Naminé: A mysterious young girl, Naminé has the ability to change memories by rearranging them and creating new links between them. She is also sixteen. Naminé

Seira: Seira is seventeen and the sister of Kairi. She loves to draw and battle. Seira looks more like Naminé. Seira

Toby: Toby is a young cheerful sixteen year old boy. He is the brother of Riku. Toby is skillful and enterjetic.

Ryan: Ryan is a dark hearted boy who is forced into darkness. He thinks he can save anyone from the worst life. He is sixteen and very forceful and dark.

Prologue
Seira walked along the shore looking out onto the waves. "It will always be different here now." she thought. "This place is for peace and happiness. Sora, Kairi, and Riku are so lucky to have traveled to more places than Toby, Ryan, and I have put together." Seira was lost in thought as darkness started to spread all along the sea water. "Guys, come here now!" The group came quickly to her. "What is it now, Seira." Ryan said impartially. "Look over there." She pointed to the darkness.
Ryan ran forward as in greeting it to come to the island. Toby yelled, "Ryan what are you doing?!" He just kept on running to the water's edge. "Come back, Ryan! " The all shouted together, But Ryan just kept on running through the water now till he reached the darkness. The darkness swallowed him whole. "Ryan?!" Sora yelled as he watched the darkness come even further. "Run!" someone yelled. Then they all split up into two groups of two and three. Seira and Kairi ran up the slope. They jumped on the sitting branch as the darkness spread across under their feet. "That was a close one. " Kairi said. "Who would know that darkness could spread that quickly?" Seira shook her head, "I did. I knew that some darkness can spread that quickly."
Seira jumped down from the branch and helped Kairi off. "I think we should look for the others not including Ryan." Kairi said coldly. "I hope Sora is okay. I do not want him dieing." Her hands were white, cold, and shaking. Kairi started sobbing. "I don't want him to die!" she wailed. "He won't die, Kairi, he won't die." Seira said soothingly. Her voice had a bit of coldness to it. Meanwhile the boys were starting to climb down the trees that they were hiding in. "I don't want Kairi to die." said Sora. "She was my girlfriend." Toby rolled his eyes. "Your crazy to think that she will die. Where's Riku?" Toby muttered
