Chapter 8
"The eagle has soared to a faraway place of humans and bizzare animals?!?!?!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "A terrible rat is endangering the tribes?!" exclaimed Acorn Tree. "Nova Lee, Amber Mist, what do you two mean?" asked Black Storm. "The eagle has flown to a faraway and strange place. Five determined bears have to bring the eagle home." said Amber Mist. "We have to find an eagle?! I thought we have to find Talon of Mighty eagle!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "Wait! Don't y'all get it? The 'eagle' is my son! TALON OF MIGHTY Eagle, get it? 'Five bears,' that's us! It we're all determined, we can bring Talon Of Mighty Eagle home!" exclaimed I. "Okay, now it makes scence. Yes, I get it now." said Black Storm. "I understand now!" exclaimed Acorn Tree. "Me too!" exclaimed Amber Mist. "Okay, that's one prophecy solved. Now, what's this 'rat' that's threatening our tribes?" demanded Ash Fall. "I bet the rat is my aunt! RAT Fang? Do you get it? She's a dangerous bear! She killed my brother and sister! She said that she'll slaughter every black bear in our forest home! The 'rat,' is Rat Fang!" snarled Amber Mist. "That sounds possible, but who are the two bears that shall defeat the rat?" asked Acorn Tree. "I'm not sure. But, I just thought of something, rats can be dangerous animals. The carry disease and had been known to eat bear cubs alive. Rats can be huge. One rat is bad enough. Rats are intellegent and smart. That's why they're so hard to catch. This 'rat' can be Rat Fang OR a real rat." said Black Storm. "Funny, Rat Fang looks and acts like a rat to me!" snarled Amber Mist. "Young bears, settle. Y'all are smart in your own ways. I bet y'all anything that y'all are right about the eagle prophecy. Now for the rat prophecy, that one is tricky. Rats are very dangerous animals. I lost many of my flock to a pack of rats. One rat is a threat, but Rat Fang can be the threat too. Hopefully, we should figure out who or what the rat is soon." cawed Night Wing. "I sure hope so." murmured I. "I still say the rat is Rat Fang!" snarled Amber Mist. "Well, before we go figuring out who the rat is, I saw we should find Talon Of Mighty Eagle and bring him back home." said Black Storm. "Black Storm is right. We're supposed to find him. Now, let's have some breakfast, and then we can find him." said I. "Young male is indeed right. It's wise to eat some breakfast first. Then, we'll find the eagle." rasped Night Wing. The others nodded and we headed over to the pond. We spent a good chunk of the morning catching fish and eating them. After our breakfast, we once agian began our search for my son. Night Wing soared over our backs. We bears sniffed as we walked. We picked up my son's scent and followed it. Sadly, the scent was stale, but we followed it anyway. Hopefully, the scent should get stronger as long as we keep walking. "I say we should run towards Talon Of Mighty Eagle's scent. The sooner we get to it the better." said Amber Mist. "That's not a bad idea." said Acorn Tree. "It isn't." said Black Storm. "The grizzly bear's right, let's run!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "Running towards the scent will be good. We bears can run for a long time." said I. "Careful not to tire yourselves out." warned Night Wing. "We won't." said Black Storm. "Alright, everyone, RUN!" exclaimed I. We bears began to run. We ran and ran. Night Wing flapped her wings as fast as she could. We raced toawds the scent. The noon sun shown down on our backs, but we bears weren't tired. We kept on running. Night Wing was fast as we were. We kept catching up with us. "Talon Of Mighty Eagle's scent is getting stronger already!" exclaimed Amber Mist. She was right. My son's scent did get stronger. I kept on praying to Spirit Tribe that we shall fing my son as soon as possible.

Chapter 9
The afternoon sun had released its mighty rays. We still kept running. We bears can run for a long time. Poor Night Wing, her poor old wings couldn't keep up with us, but she sure can try. My son's scent had gotten slightly stronger. "Keep running everyone! My my son's scent is getting bigger every pawstep!" demanded Black Storm. "My legs are getting tired!" complained Ash Fall. "Tough! You wanted to come! So, you have to keep running!" snapped Black Storm. "You're not the chief of me!" snapped Ash Fall. I was astonished. Ash Fall is an adult and female version on my son! "I'm not, but you said that you wanted to come! So, you have to keep up with us!" growled Black Storm. "Uh, guys, maybe we should stop. Night Wing looks like she's going to fall to the ground." said Amber Mist. "Rest will be good young ones. We should stop and rest for a little bit." crowed Night Wing. "Yeah, we should recharge." said Acorn Tree. "But-" protested Black Storm. "No buts Black Storm. They're right. We should rest." said I. "Oh alright! Gee! Am I the only one that cares about Talon Of Mighty Eagle?!?!?" exclaimed Black Storm. I stared at him in shock. "Don't let concerned he-bear shock you. He's a father, and he lost his son. You can't blame him for acting like that." cawed Night Wing. "That's true. It's natural to be worried about your child." said I. We all stopped at a big patch of grass, and lied down. "When my chicks grew up and flew away from my nest, I worry about them every day. But, every spring, they visit me. They tell me stories about their new homes and their mates. They even have chicks of their own. They go back to their nests at summer. I still have my flock to keep me company, but my chicks now have families in farawy trees and my soul-mate has been shot by a human hunter. So, I get lonely alot. But, every night, I talk to them moon and the stars. I tell them how my day has been. So, I have ways of coping with my sadness." rasped Night Wing. "My father used to talk to the moon and the stars too. He says they're a real good company even though they don't talk back." said Ash Fall. "Sometimes the best kind of company are the ones that don't talk back. As long as they are there for you, that's all that counts." said Night Wing. "Do you talk to the sun and the clouds too Night Wing?" asked Amber Mist. "Sometimes I do. I'm usually asleep most of the day though." replied Night Wing. "My grandfather talks to the sun and clouds too." said Ash Fall. "My mother talks to plants." said Amber Mist. "Nature is always there for us." said Night Wing. We talked until the afternoon sun was at its fullest. "I'm very sorry, but I must get back to my flock. They'll be missing me." said Night Wing. "Bye Night Wing! Take care! Fly safely!" chorused us bears. "Bye dear ones! May Spirit Tribe light your paths!" cawed Night Wing. We watched Night Wing fly away. "I sure hope that we'll see her agian." said Black Storm "She will. She always visits the tribes in autum." said I. "There's no raven like her." said Acorn Tree. "She's okay, for a raven." growled Ash Fall. "Now that we got our energy back, let's keep on searching for my son." said I. The others nodded and followed me as I followed my son's scent. Where can my son be?

Here's a bear term! Raccon-headed: an irritable and stubborn bear
Chapter 10
Six moons has passed. My son is still nowhere to be seen. We still manage to pick up his scent. "Let's turn back, maybe that little runt doesn't want to be found!" growled Ash Fall. "I'm never going to give up! I want my son! If you don't like it, YOU turn back!" snarled Black Storm. "Y'all, take it easy! If we can bring a tribe of polar bears home, we can find my son!" said I. "You do have a point Nova Lee." said Acorn Tree. "Of course she does!" snapped Amber Mist. We walked and walked. To my horror, my son's scent was coming from human land! "That pipsqueak is in the land of humans?!?!?! If y'all think I touching my paws into that filth-hole, you got another thing coming!" snarled Ash Fall. "I don't care if my son is inside of a human cave! I bringing him back!" snarled Black Storm. "Are you mad?!?!?! You were captured by those beasts once! Those are the beasts that massacred your family and mine!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "Well, I'm willing to risk my life to save my son!" snapped Black Storm. "That goes for me too!" exclaimed I. "Me too!" exclaimed Acorn Tree. "And me!" exclaimed Amber Mist. "Well, you insane bear can go in there, but I'm staying here!" snapped Ash Fall. "Traitor!" snarled Black Storm. "That's just fine, Ash Fall. You can stay there, but we're going into human land." said I. "I will stay here! Because I got brains!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "We'll see you, Ash Fall." said Amber Mist. After leaving Ash Fall behind, the rest of us ran into the human land. We dodged rolling boulders and barking creatures, we ran past a bunch of spooked humans, and we passed some gray cooing birds. "This human land looks awfully familiar." said Amber Mist. "You're right, Amber Mist. This place DOES look familiar." said I. "Yeah, if I remember correctly, this is the same place were I was captured!" exclaimed Black Storm. "Yeah, I remember this place! This is the same place where we met those zoo bears!" exclaimed Acorn Tree. "Those bears are really nice!" replied I. "They are! I feel so sorry for them, the humans took them away from their native land and from their tribes." said Amber Mist in a mournful voice. "We should visit them. I bet they would like some company." said Acorn Tree. "Visit them?!?!?! We're supposed to find Talon Of Mighty Eagle!!!" exclaimed Black Storm. "It'll be a nice and short visit, that way we can go back to the search for him." said Acorn Tree. "Well, y'all can go visit those strange bears, but I'm finding my son!" snarled Black Storm. Without waiting for a reply, Black Storm bolted past us and ran as fast as his quick legs can carry him. He was running towards my son's scent. "Black Storm! Wait!" hollered I. "Let him go! If he's that raccon-headed, let him be!" growled Acorn Tree. "But, we can't leave him too!" exclaimed I. "We'll find him, don't worry." said Amber Mist. All I can do was watch Black Storm fade into the horizon. "Well, looks like it's just us." said I to Acorn Tree and Amber Mist. "Looks like it." said Acorn Tree. "Okay, let's visit the zoo bears. Then, we can get back to the search for my son." said I. "Sounds good to me." said Amber Mist. "I up for it." said Acorn Tree. We walked deeper into the human land. We searched for the zoo. There was something eles familiar about this place, but I just can't put my paw on it. Just then, we heard voices. Familiar voices. "Hey look, it's those Native American bears!" yowled the voice. "You're right! It is them!" yowled the other voice. We turned around, and saw Sheena and Lion!

Chapter 11
Acorn Tree, Amber Mist, and I gasped as we saw the two familiar cat faces. "Howdy! Long time no see!" greeted Amber Mist. "It's good to see you wee bears agian!" meowed Lion. "It just makes my heart sing to see you familiar bears agian!" purred Sheena. I smiled at these friendly cats with the funny accents. "We're happy to see you two too!" said I. "Where's the scarred young lass and the tender young lad that hangs out with you guys?" asked Lion. I told them about our mission and why we left Ash Fall behind and why Black Storm left us. "Oh dear! That's not good at all!" mewed Sheena with eyes wide in worry. "We'll find Talon Of Mighty Eagle and Black Storm. Then, we'll be reunited with Ash Fall agian. Don't you worry." said I. "I believe that. If you bears can find those polar bears, then you can find the others." mewed Lion. "You just got to watch out for circus people." warned Sheena. "Circus people?!? What in Spirit Tribe's name is a circus?" exclaimed I. "A circus is a colorful place where humans do tricks and capture strange animals. The people train the animal to perform tricks to entertain the other people. There's a lot of noise, music, color, animals, people, and all kinds of amazing stuff! Our owners took us to a circus once, and let me tell you all, it's the greatest place ever!" meowed Lion. "You mean, they cubnap aniamls just so they can do stupid tricks to please humans?" gasped Acorn Tree in disgust. "The aniamls eventually get used to it. Once they're tamed, they never want to go back home." meowed Sheena. "Humans! They will never be satisfied until they enslave and kill animals!" snarled Amber Mist. "Circus humans only kill elderly circus aniamls." meowed Lion. "That's cruel!" exclaimed I. "They're looking for a bear. If you all can't kind the others in time, you all may never see them agian." meowed Sheena. "Then, we better find our traveling mates and fast." said I. "Yeah, we better go. Bye you two." grunted Acorn Tree. "Bye!" said Amber Mist. "Bye you Native American bears!" yowled Lion. "Bye! Be careful!" yowled Sheena. After saying our good-byes, we left the cats and began the search for others. Those humans better not lay a paw on my best friend, mate, and son!

Chapter 12
Acorn Tree, Amber Mist, and I searched anxiously for the others. We're on human land. Even worse, there could be circus humans nearby. "I don't know what to do if those awful humans capture my nephew, Black Storm, and Ash Fall!" shrilled Acorn Tree. "We'll find them." said I, but just as panicy as my sister. "How can you be so sure?" asked Amber Mist. "I just know." said I. "Well, I sure hope you're right." said Amber Mist. We went deeper and deeper into the human land. Like our last trip to this vile place, the humans stared at us in fright and disgust. Luckily, they didn't come near us. My son's scent was definatley close by. Hopefully, I'll find him soon. "Talon Of Mighty Eagle's scent is playing tricks on us! One minute, his scent is strong enough to knock you off your paws! A few more pawstep's later, it begins to fade! It's driving me crazy!" exclaimed Amber Mist. "I sure hope we're getting closer to him!" whispered Acorn Tree. I prayed that my son was close by. Once we find him, we'll find the others. The afternoon sun shined bright in the sky. To my sadness and frustration, my son's scent began to fade. "Nova Lee! Your son is leading us on a wild moose-chase!" exclaimed Amber Mist. "Where can he be?" whimpered Acorn Tree. I was getting worried. Very worried. My son's scent trail began to fade agian, Black Storm is nowhere to be seen or heard, and Ash Fall still refused to set a paw on human land. "Okay guys, let's use our heads! If you were Talon Of Mighty Eagle, where would you be?" Amber Mist demanded. "My son loves trees, but there isn't any tree in this cursed place!" exclaimed I. "Well, those tall human caves are sort of like trees. Maybe he climbed up one of them." said Acorn Tree. "Good thinking sis! He could be climbing up on one of them! Now, all we have to do is sniff really hard." said I. We sniffed our hardest scents. Soon, we picked up the faintest scent of my son on top of a really tall human cave. "I smell him! He's on top of that human cave!" exclaimed I. We raced towards the human cave. We ran and ran. Then, we skidded to a hault. We smelt a smell. A threatning smell. Then, we saw a pack of savage looking creatures. They looked like small wolves with black-and-brown fur and stubby tails. "Look boss, we got ourselves a trail of trespassing teddy bears!" barked one of the creatures. "We sure despise those mangy varmits boss!" barked another. "Yes, we sure do. Let's rip out their guts and feat on their flesh!" growled the boss creature.

This chapter is pretty gruesome. You have been warned.
Chapter 13
Acorn Tree, Amber Mist, and I stared at the savage creatures in terror. Just when the lead creature was about to sink his teeth into our necks, two small creatures leapt onto his back. The two creatures turned out to be Sheena and Lion. The cats bit the lead creature's ears. The lead creature howled in agony. "Cats! Cats!" barked one of the wolf-like creatures. "Stay away from our friends!" snarled Lion. "Who's going to make us? You?" sneered the lead creature. "Yes! Us!" snarled Sheena. "Isn't this sweet! Two kitty-cats are protecting the three teddy bears! We'll I say we maul them, and kill them!" laughed one of the creatures. One of the creatures grabbed Sheena in his mouth and shook her. "SHEENA!!!" yowled Lion. The creature threw Sheena up in the air and caught her in his teeth. The creature sank his teeth into her throat. The creature ripped out her throat. "SHEENA!!!" cried Lion. "Good work Flea. Now let's kill the other puddy-tat!" barked a creature. A creature grabbed Lion and shook him. While the creature shook him, a huge figure pounced on her. The figure was Black Storm! "YOU TICK-BITTEN PIECE OF COUGAR DUNG!!!" bellowed Black Storm. The creature released Lion and stared at my love in horror. Black Storm sank his teeth into the creature's head and grabbed her forelegs. I watched as Black Storm litterally ripped off the creature's head. Blood and gore poured out of the creature's neck and head. Black Storm spat out the creature's head and moved on to the next creature. The creature leapt at Black Storm. Black Storm swatted the creature down to the hard ground. Black Storm sank his teeth into the creature's belly. I watched as Black Storm pulled out the creature's guts. The creature's belly spewed out blood. The other creatures yelped. "That teddy bear is tough boss!" yelped a creature. "I can take him!" snarled a creature. The creature ran towards Black Storm. Black Storm smacked the creature down to the ground. Black Storm rapidly tore off all of the creature's legs. The creature's sockets threw up blood and chunks. "Oh let me take care of this stupid bear!" barked another creature. Black Storm saw the creature and grabbed her in his claws. Black Storm lifted one of his free claws and gouged out the creature's eyes with it. The creature yelped in agony as she cried out thick blood. Black Storm lifted his claw agian and scored it across the creature's throat. The creature gurgled in pure agony. Blood poured out of her neck and mouth. Black Storm dropped the creature. "You, you, you...killed my pack!" gasped the lead creature. "Yes, and I suggest you better leave or I'll kill you as well!" snarled Black Storm. "You may have killed my pack, but I'm going to kill you!" snarled the lead creature. The lead creature leapt at Black Storm. Black Storm dodged. The creature leapt agian. Black Storm tried to smack the creature, but missed. The creature landed on Black Storm's back. The creature sank his teeth into Black Storm's ear. To my terror, the creature ripped off my love's right ear! Black Storm roared in pain as blood gushed out of the place where his right ear used to be. The creature gulped down my dear's ear. Black Storm reared up really fast. The creature went flying off Black Storm's shoulders. Black Storm fell onto his back, but quickly got back up agian. Black Storm charged at the lead creature. The creature let out a fearful yelp. Black Storm snapped the creature's head. Black Storm crushed the creature's skull. The lead creature let out an agony-filled yelp and died. Black Storm got back up and panted. "Thanks Black Storm!" You saved our lives!" said I. "Uh, guys? You should come over here." mewed Lion. We went towards him. To our deep shock, we saw Sheena lying motionless on the ground.

Chapter 14
We stared at Sheena in horror. The front of her neck had been ripped off. Blood oozed out of her gaping wound. Her eyes were closed. Her mouth was open in a silent mew. "Sheena, please get up!" pleaded Lion. Sheena didn't move. "I'm sorry Lion. She's dead." said I in a very quiet voice. "No. No. NO!!!" yowled Lion. "Sheena died in a brave and noble death." said Amber Mist. "She was a wonderful cat." said Acorn Tree in a kind voice. "And a good friend." said Black Storm. "Sheena is not dead! She can't be dead! She's my best friend!" exclaimed Lion. "Lion, look at her. She's dead." said I. "But...she...she's not...she can't be..." murmured Lion. "I know it's hard, Lion. Believe me, I grieve for her too. We all do." said I. "Sheena? Are you dead?" asked Lion to the gray she-cat in an almost inaudiable voice. No reply. "Sheena's.........dead..." whispered Lion. "I'm very sorry, Lion." said I in a kind voice. "No...NO!!! Those mangy dobermans!!! If I sliced their eyes out, I could of saved her!" snarled Lion. "Dobermans?" said Amber Mist in a puzzled voice. "A doberman is a type of dog. Those were the creatures that attacked us. If your buddy Black Storm didn't kill them, I certainly would've!" yowled Lion. "What good would that do, Lion? Sheena is still dead." said Acorn Tree. "At least I could say that I avenged her death!" yowled Lion. "Sheena would've want you to use your brain. There's no way a small animal like you cats can defeat a pack of dogs." said Amber Mist. "I have claws and jaws of a lion! That's why I'm named Lion! My lion power could've defeated those flea-bitten canines!" snarled Lion. "Well, the dogs are dead. Sheena might be dead, but you shall be reuntited with her some day. In the mean time, she'll be watching over you." said I. "Her and I have been together ever since we were kittens. We were from diffrent families. We were in the same cage together. Our human picked us out from all of the other kittens. We grew up together. Our human loved us. Our human! Oh, great gopher! What am I going to say to him? How can I ever face myself to show him that Sheena's dead?" yowled Lion. "He's going to find out sooner or later." said I. "You're right. I have to face him. Can one of you bears take off the spiked collar the lead dog is wearing? That way, I'll show him that Sheena was murdered by a dog." said Lion. I went over towards the lifeless lead dog. I pulled of the collar from his neck. I realized that he was the only one that wore a spiked collar. I handed the collar to Lion. Lion put the awful collar around his small neck. "Now, I must take Sheena back to the house where our human lives." meowed Lion. "Will you be okay?" asked I. "I will. We'll, I'm glad that you bears are safe, and I must be on my way." mewed Lion. "Good-bye Lion!" chorused us bears. Lion dipped his head and picked up Sheena's neck in his teeth. We watched as Lion headed back to his home. "Poor cat." said Black Storm. "I know." said Acorn Tree. "His heart will go on." said Amber Mist. "Well, sorry to break all this up, but we must find Talon Of Mighty Eagle and get back to Ash Fall." said I. My traveling mates nodded and followed me towards my son's scent trail.
