A bear term - sharp bug: tranquilizer dart A bear term - Rat's Paradise: city dump
Chapter 18
"Those zoo bears were nice!" said Amber Mist. "I know! I bet their tribes were very proud of them." said Acorn Tree. "I can't believe that those cougar-hearted humans took those poor bears away from their tribes and locked them up in cages!" growled Black Storm. "It's a wonder how Sheena and Lion can live with them!" muttered Ash Fall. "Y'all, I know that y'all are tempted to sleep, but it is dangerous for us to sleep on human land. So, we need to get moving." said I. My traveling mates nodded and followed me. After walking fifty deer lengths, Amber Mist ran off. "Not agian!" exclaimed Ash Fall "Let's go after her!" sighed I in an exasperated voice. We chased after Amber Mist. Amber Mist lead us to a huge and reeking place with black trees circling it. Then, I realized that Amber Mist lead us to a Rat's Paradise. "Why did you lead us here? This place makes my stomach turn!" asked Ash Fall in a retching voice. "This Rat's Paradise is where we shall I sleep!" said Amber Mist in an excited voice. "You got to be kidding me!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "Look, we all need sleep. We'll be traveling on human land for Spirit Tribe knows how long! We need a nice and safe place for us to sleep in! So, this is a deserted place. I found a hole big enough for us to get in the Rat's Paradise. We'll sleep in there. And, when the sun goes up, we'll continue our quest." said Amber Mist. "Amber Mist is right. We need our sleep. So, Rat's Paradise it is. It IS a human free place." said Black Storm. "I vote for Rat's Paradise too!" said Acorn Tree. "Me too!" said I. "I guess I'm in too!" growled Ash Fall. We crawled through the hole and now we're all in Rat's Paradise. We nearly vomited from the disgusting smell, but we were grateful that we found a place to sleep. We were now fourty rattle-snakes away from the hole. "This place smells almost as bad as Blood Tribe land!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "Hey!" exclaimed Amber Mist as she glared at Ash Fall. "Y'all, calm down. Let's just get some sleep." said I. Soon, we all drifted off to sleep. The sun rose. We all woke up and stretched. I lead my traveling mates out of Rat's Paradise. We went through the hole. "I think I had three or four rats crawling on me!" growled Ash Fall. "Why do you think we bears call that place Rat's Paradise?" said Black Storm as he rolled his eyes. "Don't get smart with me!" snapped Ash Fall. "Ash Fall! Black Storm! Calm down! Let's just continue our quest. "I'm sorry." Said Black Storm. Ash Fall stuck her tongue out at Black Storm. None of us said a word as I lead them away from Rat's Paradise and back on our path to Nome, Alaska. Just then, we all got hungry. "I'm hungry!" complained Ash Fall. "Look! There's a patch of grass in front of a house!" said Amber Mist as she ran towards the grass. We all followed her to the grass. "Okay y'all, let's hurry up and eat. A human lives in that house and we don't want one to catch us!" said I. My traveling mates nodded and began grazing. I grazed along with them. While we grazed, we saw a female human coming out of the house. "Uh-oh!" squeaked Amber Mist. The human saw us and screamed in terror. She ran back into her house. "Why do so many humans fear us bears?" asked Amber Mist. "Humans would look for any excuse to fear us." said Acorn Tree. "But, Sheena and Lion's humans aren't afraid of us They love us!" said Amber Mist. "Not all humans are like Sheena's and Lion's humans Amber Mist. Believe me!" said Black Storm. "Well, if we see that human come out agian, we'll tear her to pieces!" said Ash Fall. "Um, guys, we should hurry up with our breakfast. The sooner we get a move on the better." said I. My traveling mates nodded. So, we grazed on. Then, Amber Mist got up and went around the human home. We all sighed and followed her once agian. "Look guys! Fish!" exclaimed Amber Mist. Sure enough, we saw a huge human-made pond near the human home with many orange fish swimming in it. "Wow! I never seen an orange fish before!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "I wonder what they taste like." said Acorn Tree. "Well, why don't we all find out?" said I with a smile on my face. I reached my head in and pulled out a fish. I sat it down on the ground and took a bite out of it. I swallowed the flesh. "The fish have a delicious taste!" exclaimed I. Acorn Tree, Ash Fall, and Amber Mist ducked their heads in the water and they each pulled out a fish. "Uh, y'all, I don't think we should be here. I think we should leave. Now!" said Black Storm in a worried voice. "Chill out Black Storm! Have some fish with us!" said Ash Fall with a chewed up fish flesh in her mouth. "No thanks. I don't want to mess with human stuff." said Black Storm. "You don't know what you're missing!" said I. Except for Black Storm, we all have been dining intill it was noon. "I'm stuffed!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "I ate like a caterpillar!" said Amber Mist. "Great feast Amber Mist! We all owe you. If it weren't for you, we would have never dined on this delicious grass and fish." said Acorn Tree. "Thank you so much Amber Mist!" said I as I smiled. "Aww, shucks y'all! It was nothing!" said Amber Mist. Just then, We thought we heard a rolling boulder stopping in front of the human house. We went back around the house and saw two male humans stepping out of what was indeed a rolling boulder. To our horror, they were chasing us! "Y'ALL RUN! I'LL DISTRACT THE HUMANS!" Bellowed Black Storm as he tackled the humans down. "RUN!" repeated Black Storm. We saw Black Storm run away from our intended direction. The humans got back up and pursued him with one of them holding a gun!" "Y'all try to get out of human land! Continue the quest! I'm going after Black Storm!" said I. "Nova Lee! No!" exclaimed Acorn Tree. "The disgusting humans with go after you as well!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "Don't do it!" exclaimed Amber Mist. I ignored them and went after the humans that chased after Black Storm. To my shock, the human shot a sharp bug from his gun. The sharp bug's point went into Black Storm's rear. After running a few more deer lengths, Black Storm's collapsed to the ground. Sharp bugs where known to make bears extremely tired and groggy. Then, one of the humans shouted. In just a matter of seconds, three more humans came out of the rolling boulder. They opened up the rear-end of the rolling boulder and helped Black Storm's pursuers carry Black Storm into the rolling boulder. Black Storm was now inside of the rolling boulder. The humans closed up the rolling boulder's rear-end pulled down the latch. Then, the humans got back inside of the rolling boulder. In just a matter of seconds, the rolling boulder sped away. I ran as fast as I could. The rolling boulder is huge and green, that'll be easy to remember. I was now ten coyotie lengths away from the rolling boulder. We ran on and on. Oh Spirit Tribe, what if I never see my beloved Black Storm agian?

bear term - blinking lights: traffic lights
Chapter 19
After chasing the rolling boulder for all after noon, I was begining to grow very weary. Then, to my prayers, the rolling boulder stopped. It stopped in front of a couple of blinking lights. My weariness no longer bothered me. All I care about is freeing Black Storm from those cougar-hearted humans. Being as quiet as a mouse, I snucked behind the rolling boulder. I stood up on my tippy back claws. I used the tips of my front claws to pull up the latch. After a few breath-taking seconds, I managed to open the rolling boulder's rear. "Nova Lee! You've came back for me!" exclaimed Black Storm. "Indeed I have. I see that you are no longer dazed. Quick, you better get out of the rolling boulder before the humans catch ya!" said I. Black Storm nodded and leapt out of the retched rolling boulder. We dodged past rolling boulders and onto running on human grass. "Where are the others?" asked Black Storm. "I told them to continue our quest. Don't worry, we'll find them." said I. At least, I hope we find them.

Chapter 20
Black Storm and I ran as fast as we could. Then we saw a house with no rolling boulders in front of it. Black Storm and I descided to stop and rest there for a moment. "Nova Lee, you those humans could've shot a sharp bug at you and lock you up in a rolling boulder and take you away like they did with me! You really put your life on the line to set me free!" said Black Storm in a stern voice. "It just, I wouldn't know what I do without you. I love you so much. I just can't let tose humans take you away." said. I. "I love you more than life itself Nova Lee, but those humans could have caught you and, ooh I just can't even think about what could've happened to you!" said Black Storm. "I'm safe Black Storm. You are safe. We made it out safely." said I. "I'll never find another bear like you!" whispered Black Storm. "I'll never find another bear like you!" whispered I. Black Storm and I hugged. Tears of happiness streamed from our closed eyes. It was so wonderful to have my darling Black Storm back safe and sound. I thanked Spirit Tribe for his safe return. "Well, now that we're back together, we should go find the others." said Black Storm. "You're right! We got to find them!" exclaimed I as I quickly became scared. Black Storm and I released each other and ran to find Acorn Tree, Ash Fall, and Amber Mist. We ran towards the place where the humans had captured Black Storm. "Okay, the others were near this spot. Let's try picking up their scent." said I. Black Storm and I began sniffing. After a few moments, I've picked up our traveling mates' scents. "I can smell them! Follow me!" exclaimed I. Black Storm followed me as I lead him to the others' scents. We passed a bunch of houses and other human caves. We passed some very strange looking ponds. We passed the most bizzare looking black trees with white stuff dangling from them. The scent of the others grew stronger. We passed many human caves and avoided rolling boulders. The scent of the others still got stronger. After walking so many pawsteps, we didn't realize that it was night time. We still walked on. We walked all night. The sun began to rise. We still walked on. We refused to stop. Then, we finally saw the faraway images of our traveling mates. They were sitting down on a huge patch of grass. "There they are!" exclaimed I in a gleeful voice. Black Storm and I ran towards them. "Y'all! We're here! We made it out in one piece!" shouted I. "Nova Lee! Black Storm! You two are here!" exclaimed Acorn Tree as she smiled in the biggest smile she can managed. Her, Ash Fall, and Amber Mist ran towards us. We all gave each other a group hug. "I thought that I'll never see you two agian!" cried Acorn Tree as tears fell from her eyes. "If I ever get a hold of those humans, I'll rip open their stomachs and pull out their intestines!" said Ash Fall. "I'm so glad that you two came back safe and sound!" grunted Amber Mist in a happy voice. "Okay, I say that we all continue our quest and get out of human land." said I. "Right!" my traveling mates chorused. We released each other and I lead them back to our path to Nome, Alaska.

Thanks Firelover! Chapter 21 Acorn Tree, Ash Fall, Amber Mist, Black Storm, and I walked for and entire half-moon without a wink of sleep. Our effort was payed off as we saw a huge field in front of the human land. "Thanks Spirit Tribe! I was begining to think that we never get out of human land!" exclaimed Amber Mist. "We did it! We really did it!" exclaimed Acorn Tree. "It's so good to see a grassy field agian!" exclaimed Black Storm. "We're finally away from those stupid humans!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "Yes, we're finally safe. Now, let's find that pond with the big tree near it. It's what the cats told us to." said I. The rest nodded except for Ash Fall. "Great! More walking! I'm tired! I'm ready to start my hibernation even though it's not winter!" exclaimed Ash Fall. "Look, we're all tired. That is why we got to keep moving. The sooner we get to the pond with the tree near it, the sooner we get some sleep." said I. "Fine! Let's hurry up!" growled Ash Fall. We traveled in single file with me in the lead. We walked until the moon shone down on us. To our luck, we were out of the field and found a quite human free place with a pond and a tree near it! "Yes! We're here!" chorued us. We walked towards the big tree and circled around it. We all collapsed down and immediatley fell asleep. I was in Spirit Tribe agian. I was agian surrounded by all its beauty. I saw the biggest and fattest salmon leaping at the crystal clear waterfall. I was tempted to catch me a fish, but those fish were for the bears that live in Spirit Tribe. I would never taste Spirit Tribe's food until my time comes to join them. Then, I saw a handsome and muscular looking black he-bear walking towards me. I sat down and waited for what he was about to say. "Greetings Nova Lee. I've been watching you. I see that my son has fallen in love with you and you with him." said the he-bear. "You're...you're...you're Kills Cougar With Claws! Black Storm's father! Tree Tribe's chief! What an honor to meet you sir!" exclaimed I in pure delight. "I am those things. Thanks for saving my son. I owe you. I'll owe you by saying what I have to say." said Kills Cougar With Claws. I listened closely. "You and your traveling mates must continue your quest to Nome, Alaska. You'll be entering a shadowy forest. In that forest, you'll meet Sly. You must listen to what he has to say. I said what I have to say. I must depart you for now." said Kills Cougar With Claws. No! Don't go! There are questions I want to ask you!" shouted I as Kills Cougar With was walking back to the direction he came from. I woke up with a gasp. The others were asleep. I got up to drink some water from the pond. I lapped us a few mouthfulls of water. So, we met Night Wing, we met Sheena and Lion, now we are to meet some creature named Sly that lives in a shadowy forest. I sat in front of the pond and looked at the night sky. Oh Spirit Tibe, please let our meeting with Sly be as welcoming as our meetings with Night Wing and Sheena and Lion!

Thanks Moony! Chapter 22 We have awoken. I've told them about my dream. "My father visited you?!" gasped Black Storm with his eyes wide. "Yes Black Storm, he did." said I. "We have to find ANOTHER animal?!" asked Ash Fall in a whiny voice. "Yes, Sly lives in a shadowy forest." said I. "Where IS this forest?" asked Amber Mist. "We'll find it in while we're continuing our quest." said I. "Think Sly will be as wise as Night Wing and as nice as Sheena and Lion?" asked Acorn Tree. "We'll find out when we go into the forest." said I. "Any creature that lives in a shadowy forest doesn't sound like the friendliest fellow on the planet." said Amber Mist in a worried voice. "Calm down Amber Mist. No creature is more dangerous than us bears. If the creature gives us lip, we'll tear its hide off." said Ash Fall. "WE are going to be polite to the creature no matter what her or his personality is like." said I. "But-" said Ash Fall. "No buts! We start our continuing quest after we eat some breakfast!" interupted I Ash Fall glared at me, but said nothing. "I'll go catch us some fish." said Amber Mist. "I will pick berries for all of us!" said Acorn Tree. "I'll go help Acorn Tree pick berries." muttered Ash Fall. "Nova Lee and I will go find some insects. I bet there are a bunch of tasty looking beatles around here!" said Black Storm. "Okay, it's settled. Let's get started!" said I. We all gathered up breakfast. Black Storm walked closely to me. "So, my father visited you last night. Wonderful bear wasn't he?" said Black Storm. "He sure was. He says that he's watching over us. He knows about our relationship." said I. "He does?" asked Black Storm. "He does." said I. "What does he think?" asked Black Storm. "I think he's cool with it." said I. "That's great, because I'll never stop loving you." said Black Storm. "And I'll never stop loving you." said I. Black Storm and I touched noses and licked them. "Hate to disturb you love birds, but aren't you two going to eat?" shouted Ash Fall. "Coming!" called I. Black Storm followed me as we headed towards the others. We all finished eating and we all got up to continue our quest. I lead the way with my precious Black Storm padding my side. The morning sun shone down on our heads as we continued our trek to Nome, Alaska. A qquestion popped into my head. Just WHEN will we find the shadowy forest?

Chapter 23
We all finished our meal and continued our quest. We were now crossing a field with very tall grass. The grass touched our shoulders. "This grass itches!" growled Ash Fall. "I wish we known about this grass. Looks delicious!" said Amber Mis as she licked her lips. "Careful y'all. We don't know what's in this grass." warned Acorn Tree. "Yeah, there could be snakes or holes in here." said Black Storm. "We'll be careful." said I. None of us said another word as we trudged on. The noon sun shone down on us. I lead the others as usual. I was three coyotie lengths ahead of them. The field was huge. Ash Fall was growling and complaining about the grass.. "I hate this field! I'll be scrathing myself for half moons!" growled Ash Fall. "Ash Fall, it'll take too long to walk around this field. The quickest was is to go through it!" replied I in an impatient voice. "Do you even know WHERE this shadowy forest IS?" asked Ash Fall while shooting me a glare. "If we go through this field, we'll know." said I. "You don't know where its at. You're just leading us on a wild gopher chase!" snarled Ash Fall. "I lead us to Night Wing and I lead us to Sheena and Lion even though I didn't know who or what they are! I trust my instincts! My instincts come from my heart! I let my heart lead the way! And, my heart tells me that the forest is in front of this field!" shouted I. "Nova Lee, calm down!" exclaimed Amber Mist. "Amber Mist is right. Calm down. Nova Lee, we trust your heart." said Acorn Tree. "We do." said Black Storm. "Well, I don't! I'm going out of this stupid field and lead us to the REAL path to the forest! If y'all are smart, y'all follow me!" shouted Ash Fall. Ash Fall turned around and began to run. "Ash Fall! Come back!" called I. Ash Fall ignored me. "Let her go! If she's that buffalo headed, we'll go our way and she can go her way!" said Black Storm. Then, we heard Ash Fall scream. "Ash Fall, what is it?" asked I. "THERE'S A SNAKE! IT COMING AT ME!" screamed Ash Fall. "WE'RE COMING ASH FALL!" called Amber Mist. We ran towards Ash Fall. Sure enough, a long and bulky grayish snake was reared up and tried to bite Ash Fall. "The snake doesn't look venomous, but let's not take any chances!" said Acorn Tree. The snake kept on striking at Ash Fall. Black Storm began to run faster and faster. Soon, his teeth clamped onto the snake's head. Black Storm crushed the snake's skull. "Thanks Black Storm!" said I. "Okay! Y'all win! We'll go Nova Lee's way!" shouted Ash Fall. Ash Fall ran towards the direction I was leading towards the forest. We ran after her. After running about over three hundred coyotie lengths, Ash Fall stopped. "Why did you stop?" asked Amber Mist. "We're there." said Ash Fall. "Where are we?" asked Black Storm. "We're right in front of the shadowy forest!" said Ash Fall. Sure enough, we were now in front of the shadowy forest.

Chapter 24
"We did it. We're here." said I. "It sure is dark and shadowy in there." said Black Storm. "Very dark." said Amber Mist. "It's definatley shadowy in there." said Ash Fall. "W-w-w-wo is going in there f-f-f-f-first?" asked Acorn Tree as she released her fear scent. "I'll go first!" said Amber Mist. "I'll go. Y'all get behind me. I'll protect y'all." said Black Storm. "We're not cubs Black Storm! We can take care of ourselves!" snapped Ash Fall. "They're not cubs, but YOU certainly act like one!" snapped Black Storm. "Do you realize that you're talking to the daughter of Guts Moose With Teeth?" growled Ash Fall. "Just who is Guts Moos With Teeth?" sneered Black Storm. "He's my father and Thorn Tribe's chief!" growled Ash Fall. "Just who is Thorn Tribe?" sneered Black Storm. "The tribe I was born in! My family created the tribe. We were the most powerful and the most dangerous bears on earth! We killed and ate cougars and humans for our snack! We rested our heads on dead foxes! We drank coyotie blood! We kept ourselves warm by covering ourselves with moose guts!" snarled Ash Fall in a proud voice. "REVOLTING!!! Your tribe has got to be the most disgusting tribe on the planet!" gagged Black Storm as he puked out a little bit of fish and beatle shells. "No, we were the STRONGEST tribe on the planet! We were until those retched humans killed my family! I'm now the only Thorn Tribe bear alive! I would have rebuilded Thorn Tribe if Rain Tribe hadn't took me in!" snarled Ash Fall. "Hey! Be grateful that my Tribe took you in!" growled Acorn Tree. "She doesn't know what grateful means Acorn Tree." said Black Storm. "I DO know what grateful-" said Ash Fall. "I'm sorry, but I can't take this anymore. I'm going in. Y'all can stand their and argue like yearling if y'all want, but some of us want to continue our destiny here!" interuppted I as I went into the shadowy forest. "I'm going with her. Y'all can continue your immature bickering if y'all want!" said Amber Mist as she followed me into the forest. "Nova Lee! Amber Mist! Wait for us!" chorused Acorn Tree, Ash Fall, and Black Storm as they followed us into the forest. Okay, we were now in the forest. After walking three-hundered coyotie length into it, it got dark. Very dark. So dark, that it was almost as dark as night time. Strange chirps, howls, and growls pierced the air. "I-I-I d-d-don't like this place." stammered Acorn Tree. "Don't worry Acorn Tree, you're okay. We all are okay." said I in a reasurring voice. That seemed to calm her down. None of us said another word as we walked over two-hundred deer lengths. Then, we heard a disgusted shout. It was Ash Fall. "What is it Ash Fall?" asked Amber Mist and I at the same time. "I just stepped in some deer dung!" growled Ash Fall. Black Storm snickered. I shot him a warning glare. "That's pretty disgusting." said Amber Mist. "No crap!" snapped Ash Fall. "Funny, I smell some crap on your foot!" said Black Storm in a laughing voice. I shot him another warning glare. "Sorry." said Black Storm. "As soon as we meet Sly and get out of this forest, we'll find a pond and you can go wash your foot." said I as I gave Ash Fall a calm look. "Not meaning to be pushy, but can we please walk agian? I don't like this forest." said Acorn Tree. "We'll walk Acorn Tree. Don't worry." said I. After putting an end to that, we walked on we walked over one-hundred rattle-snake lengths. Then, we saw a figure running towards us it got closer and closer. "Stop! Who are you and what are you?" demanded Ash Fall. The figure stopped. The figure was a he-fox. "Okay, you're a fox, now, who are you?" demanded Ash Fall. "Noe of your buisness!" snarled the fox.
