Thanks for the compliments, y'all!
Chapter 20
We, Rain Tribe bears, and Night Wing, were all alone agian. I saw that my son still had his head bowed as he sat on the leafy ground.
"You call yourself a chief?! You look more like a helpless cub!" growled Ash Fall to my son.
Black Storm pushed her to the ground.
"Leave him alone!!! He hasn't done anything to you!!!" snarled Black Storm.
"We could've attacked and chased off those wretched grizzly bears, but Talon Of Cowardly Pidgeon refused to start the fight!" snapped Ash Fall.
"You call those grizzly bears, 'wretched,' and yet, YOU sound just like them!" exclaimed Black Storm.
"At least they were right about that! Your son is nothing, but a gutless coward!" snapped Ash Fall.
"You take that back!!!" snarled Black Storm as he slapped Ash Fall's cheek.
"NEVER!!!" roared Ash Fall as he slapped Black Storm's cheek.
Then, Black Storm and Ash Fall began their fight. I could've stopped them, but my son needed help the most. I went over towards my son.
"Talon Of Mighty Eagle? It's me, your mother. I was wondering if we can talk." said I.
"I wish to be alone." said my son in a quiet voice, with his head still bowed.
"It's just, everybody want to know that you want all of us to do now. What do you suggest?" said I.
"Everybody can do what ever they want. I just want to be alone." said my son with his head still bowed.
"A chief always gives us a schedual. A chief always tells us what to do." said I.
"Well, I'm NOT a chief!" cried my son.
"Of course you are a chief! You were Red Wood's heir! You have to take his place!" said I.
"I can NEVER take his place!" sobbed my son.
"Your granddfather has trained you the ways of being chief! Surely you didn't forget all that training he gave you!" said I.
"I didn't forget!" shouted my son.
"Then, why don't you accept yourself as our tribe's chief?" asked I.
"Because, Red Wood was the greatest chief that ever lived! He made me look like a novice! How can you expect me to take his place?!" cried my son.
"If you do your best, you'll be as good as your granddfather." said I.
"Raccooncrap!" sobbed my son.
"It'll take practice, but you'll eventually get the hang of it." said I in a kind voice.
"You...think so?" asked my son, lifting up his head.
"I'm positive!" said I.
"Uh...maybe I can be this tribe's chief. Just like my granddfather wanted. Just like Spirit Tribe wanted." said my son.
"Good! I always knew that I had faith in you!" said I as I hugged my son.
"I'll try, but I'll never be my granddfather." said my son.
"You'll be as great as him! I have faith in you!" said I.
My son took a deep breath, and then let it out.
"Now, make an announcement of what time it is." said I.
"Everyone, it's time for bed! Time to go into your burrows!" said my son.
"Why should we listen to you?!?" challanged Ash Fall.
"Because, he's our chief!" snapped Black Storm.
"Why the buck should we go to bed this early?" growled Ash Fall.
"I said, go to your burrows, NOW!!!" exclaimed my son.
Everyone, but my son and Ash Fall, went inside their burrows. I saw that Ash Fall just sat there, glaring at my son.
"Ash Fall, gut your dusty tail into your burrow!" snapped I.
Ash Fall opened her mouth to protest, but she stopped. She gave my son another glare, and went into her burrow.
"She listens to you far better than she listens to me!" muttered my son.
"She's just mad. She'll get over it." said I.
"I sure hope so." murmmured my son.
Without waiting for another reply, my son went into his burrow.
I sighed and went into my burrow.
Oh Spirit Tribe, I sure hope things get better soon!
